IKEA – Good For Real Life

Client: Hyper Island | IKEA

Challange: Create greater awareness of IKEA and their products. Communicate that IKEA offer exceptional quality and great value for money.

Solution: In our connected digital times, we feel that “saying” is not enough. People want more than to simply be told or shown. People want to participate, do for themselves, and share their experiences. Therefore we say: Doing is believing! Our concept is all about letting people do and prove for themselves.

Watch a series of interactive tests that simulate the way people use IKEA products in real life:

Skål: The instore robot arms are pre-programmed to pick up glasses and clink them. They are activated by when the message on the Facebook app is sent. The same glasses are used over and over, as in real life, and we plan be completely transparent about the real wear and tear on them. If one breaks, we will say this glass lasted through 319 “clinks”, then replace it.

Sheetwar: Motion tracking follows the users hand movements via their webcam and controls the rollers on each side of the bed. The player that uses the motion tracking sensors the best, gets the best traction and therefore the best “pull” on the sheets. This game shows the durability of the sheets through repeated use, as in real life.

Drawerdash: Motion tracking follows the users hand movements via their webcam, which triggers a robotic arm in store to close the proper drawer. This test shows the durability of the drawers with repeated use.
